Do you see Him as some all powerful God that has set our existence into motion and left us to fend for ourselves?
Maybe you see Him as a Dictator that manipulates us to do His will.
These examples are based on a view of God as One who is not interested in having a relationship with His creation. If you will to commit your time to read the Bible, not just a chapter or two of the Bible, but the entire Bible, you will see that the above statements are nowhere close to the actual truth of Who God is. All throughout Scripture, God deals with the faithful in a one-on-one relationship. His character, in God’s righteousness and holiness, can be construed as something to the views above, but His love for Creation, all of creation (that means you and me too), is so strong that it outweighs those misconceptions when looked at in complete form.
As I walk through this journey of faith, I have found that my view of God is constantly changing. The more I read His Word, the more He shows me Who He is. The more I spend time in prayer, the more He personally speaks to me and guides me.
I see God as the One who arranges the perfect combination of discipline and love to lead us to His desired purpose. You and I just have to be willing to see things His way.
When our relationship becomes more about loving God rather than pleasing God, we can truly sing through all circumstances of life.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is He who made us, and we are His;
we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
Give thanks to Him and praise His Name.
For the Lord is good and His Love endures forever;
His Faithfulness continues through all generations.
