We have determined that the Object of our worship is God, the Creator, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, and sometimes our thoughts tend to wonder What our God is. Well, last week we looked at many different verses to help us see a glimpse of What He is, what He is doing and what He has done for us.
The God that consumes our thoughts, provides for our every need, the God that hears our prayers and mends the broken, the God that heals the sick and redeems His children is a God who deserves highest honor and our deepest respect. “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord” (Psalm 92:2).
“Worship honors God. It is directed toward Him and requires involvement” (Tom Kraeuter).
Romans 12:1 says, “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.”
You see, worship is not about how good we feel. It’s not even about us. We don’t chose to worship because we’re in a good mood and choose not to because we have had a bad day. We do it, because it honors our Creator; it is acceptable in His sight. It pleases God, when we honor Him. If we chose only to honor God when everything goes our way, then how often would He TRULY be worshiped?
Circumstances of life WILL NOT stop true worshipers; they will define them! Honor God through the storms of life. Give Him your life, and let His love be seen through you to a world of hurting people.
How are you being defined?
O Praise Him
Your Grace is Enough
