The dictionary defines the word “renovate” in this way:
“Restore (something old, esp. a building) to a good state of repair.”
This week we begin the exciting work of renovating the Vantage Pointe facility at 543 Ridge Road. The original building was built in 1970 and an addition was put on in the 1990’s. While we have worked tirelessly to keep the facility clean and in good repair, it’s now tired and really in need of a generous facelift!
There are three priorities that we keep before us as a church:
- Making disciples
- Kid’s ministry
We’re beginning our renovation with the Kid’s Wing so that our children’s needs are well met and our Children’s Pastor and her staff will be able to deliver their growing ministry in a proper facility. Here’s the plan:
- Paint throughout the wing
- Replace carpets
- Make the two nursery rooms one
- Install media technology
- Accessories with chalkboards, shelving, etc.
- Upgrade electrical, where required
We have $15,000 on hand to accomplish this phase of the work.
We can’t wait to begin raising money to carpet throughout the facility and upgrade the auditorium with fresh paint, rebuilding the platform, adding proper stage lighting, adding media technology (like a camera to pipe the service into the lobby and nursery), aesthetical improvements, and much, much more. We already have a Building Fund; so, you can start giving to this project now—above and beyond your tithes and offerings.
It’s exciting to be a part of restoring a ministry and facility in order to better fulfill the Mission and Core Values of our church. Remember: “From His Vantage Pointe, anything is possible!”
